Managing Course Enrollment

The purpose of this section is to enable the professor to check class rosters for any given section that he or she may be teaching. This option allows the professor to:

  1. Add or subtract student names in a given class section
  2. Edit the student information (e.g. fixing incorrect PID, e-mail address, etc.)

Basic Steps

  1. Go to the Web-Cat home page http://web-cat.cs.vt.edu/

  2. Select Login to the Web-Cat Grader

  3. Enter user ID, password, and proper institution
  4. Press enter to log in
  5. Click on the Manage Course Enrollments link at the bottom of the page

  6. Select the desired course by clicking the radio button to the left of the course
    • <!> Note: the tab says Create/Edit an Assignment- this is an incorrect heading for this section

  7. Click Next to proceed to Upload Student List Wizard

  8. Create enrollment list using the banner format (as a CSV file in Excel) See: /Discussion of Virginia Tech’s Banner Format

  9. Click the Upload CSV List of Students link to upload the list you perviously made in Excel to the Web-CAT Grader

  10. Click Browse and find your CSV file
